[07-03-2024] Tulare County, CA – 47-Year-Old Man Killed After Two-Vehicle Crash Involving Agriculture Equipment in Visalia

A 47-year-old man was killed after a two-vehicle crash involving agriculture equipment in Visalia on Wednesday night, July 3, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened at about 10:00 p.m. on Road 128 north of Avenue 24.

Preliminary investigation suggested that the 47-year-old man from Rosamond was driving a Toyota Sienna northbound on Road 128 at an unknown speed. At the same time, a 52-year-old driver from Delano was on a GMC 2500 pickup truck towing agricultural equipment and was heading southbound on the same roadway.

For reasons still unknown, the Toyota driver veered left and ended up in front of the oncoming GMC. It is said that the GMC driver tried to avoid crashing into the seemingly out-of-control Toyota by swerving right. Despite this, the Toyota collided with the agricultural equipment the GMC was towing.

The collision reportedly killed the Toyota driver. Apart from his age and gender, no further information has been provided about the deceased’s identity so far. There is also no word yet whether the GMC driver was injured.

The cause of the fatal accident is still under investigation. It is not immediately known if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
