[07-02-2024] One Person Killed Following Pedestrian Vs. Vehicle Collision in Visalia One person was killed following a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision in Visalia on Tuesday night, June 2, 2024. 

According to the Visalia Police Department, the crash happened on Mooney Boulevard and Cameron Avenue. 

Authorities stated that a pedestrian was found on the roadway with injuries after being struck by a vehicle. It is unknown what the victim was doing prior to the crash and how the fatal incident occurred. Upon the arrival of EMS, the pedestrian, whose name, age, and gender were not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial investigation showed that the driver of the vehicle that hit the victim had driven away. However, officers later discovered that the driver pulled into a parking lot and called 911 to report the crash. 

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be the factors in this crash. 

No additional details were released, and the authorities are gathering all the necessary information to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. 

The investigation continues.
