[06-30-2024] 48-Year-Old Female Pedestrian Killed After Two Hit-And-Run Collisions in FremontA 48-year-old female pedestrian was killed after two hit-and-run collisions in Fremont early Sunday morning, June 30, 2024.

According to the Fremont Police Department, the fatal accident happened at about 3:20 a.m. in the area of Christy Street and Stewart Avenue.

FPD said that the victim, only described as a 48-year-old woman from Fremont, was pushing a shopping cart along the northbound lanes of Christy Street when she was struck by an unspecified vehicle. It is believed that another vehicle hit the woman while she was lying in the roadway following the initial crash. Neither of the two drivers reportedly stopped to help the pedestrian or call 911.

Responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene shortly after they arrived. The Alameda County Coronoer’s Bureau will release the deceased’s identity as soon as the next of kin is notified.

At this time, no official description of the suspects or the vehicles involved was released by the authorities. Both hit-and-run drivers are still at large.
