INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT?

[06-29-2024] Santa Clara County, CA – Male Passenger Killed, Driver Injured After Single-Vehicle DUI Collision in San Jose

A male passenger was killed, and a driver was injured after a single-vehicle DUI collision in San Jose early Saturday morning, June 29, 2024. 

According to the San Jose Police Department, the crash happened just before 2:30 a.m. in the area of McKee Road and Francis Drive. 

Initial investigation showed that a woman was driving a red 2022 Subaru sedan at a high rate of speed when she lost control and went over the center median and across all eastbound lanes. Her vehicle then careened through a fence and crashed into the second story of a residence.

No residents were reportedly injured as of this writing, but the male passenger inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken into custody at the hospital on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. 

The names and ages of the people involved were not yet disclosed, but further information on the collision will be released once it becomes available.
