Seven people were injured following a multi-vehicle collision involving a hit-and-run in Laguna Beach on Tuesday night, June 25, 2024.

According to the Laguna Beach Police Department, the crash happened just after 8:30 p.m. along Laguna Canyon Road at Canyon Acres.

Authorities stated that a black Mercedes and a white BMW were traveling at a high rate of speed on the eastbound Laguna Canyon Road. An officer used his overhead emergency lights and tried to catch up to the vehicles. After a short time, one of the speeding vehicles crashed into an uninvolved vehicle, causing it to cross over the center median and collided head-on with other traffic.

After the collision, the suspect vehicles fled the scene. Four people were transported to a nearby trauma hospital, while three other individuals were sent to a local hospital with minor injuries. Details on the identities of the injured victims, as well as their conditions, remain unknown.

Further investigations showed that the Mercedes was registered to an individual named Rajvir M., who was later arrested for various charges, including felony hit-and-run. Meanwhile, the identity of the driver of the white BMW is still unknown.

Additional details will be released once they become available. The investigation continues.

Witnesses are asked to call the police at 949-497-0701.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
