INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT?

[06-27-2024] Sonoma County, CA – Driver Killed, Passenger Injured After Two-Vehicle Collision Near Petaluma

A driver was killed, and a passenger was injured after a two-vehicle collision near Petaluma on early Thursday, June 27, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 12:38 a.m. on Old Adobe Road just before Casa Grande Road. 

Authorities stated that the driver of a BMW 328i was heading south when he used the opposing lane to pass a Cadillac. As he traveled to the southbound lane, the rear of his vehicle clipped the front of the Cadillac, causing him to lose control of his vehicle. The BMW went off the roadway and struck a tree. 

The driver of the BMW, identified only as a Sonoma man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, his passenger, another Sonoma man, suffered major injuries and was transported to the hospital. Details on their identities were not disclosed as of this writing. 

Police said that the driver of the Cadillac was uninjured. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision. 

Additional details on the crash have yet to be released by the authorities. 

CHP-Santa Rosa is asking anyone with information on the crash to call them at 707-806-5600.
