INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT?

[06-24-2024] San Bernardino County, CA – Two People Seriously Injured Following Fiery Four-Vehicle Collision Along I-10 in Fontana

Two people were seriously injured following a fiery four-vehicle collision in Fontana on Monday afternoon, June 24, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the massive vehicular crash happened at about 3:19 p.m. along westbound Interstate 10, west of Cherry Avenue.

The freeway accident involved a pickup truck, a sedan, a big rig, and an SUV. A preliminary investigation suggested that the pickup stalled along westbound I-10 for unknown reasons. The sedan behind the pickup slowed down safely, but the big rig following it did not, causing a rear-end crash between them.

The initial crash is believed to have caused the stalled pickup to overturn, breaking its fuel line and causing a fire on the freeway. San Bernardino County Fire Department quickly acted and extinguished the flames before it became a major concern.

How the SUV got involved in the reported four-vehicle incident is still unclear.

CHP later confirmed that two people were injured in the accident and were transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for further medical care. It is not immediately known in which vehicles the two injured individuals were at the time of the collision.

No further information was immediately available, and the authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the factors leading up to the fiery incident.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
