[06-25-2024] Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in LancasterA pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Lancaster on Tuesday morning, June 25, 2024. 

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the fatal collision happened around 2:00 a.m. on 15th Street East and Avenue I. 

Initial investigation showed that a sedan was traveling west on Avenue I when, for unknown reasons, it struck a pedestrian who was walking along the bicycle lane. The victim sustained major trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Details on the identity of the pedestrian were not immediately known. 

There is no word yet on the description of the involved driver and vehicle. As of writing, the cause of the collision is unknown. Drugs, alcohol, and speeding were being investigated as factors in the crash. 

Further information regarding the incident has yet to be released, and the authorities are gathering all the necessary evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
