[06-24-2024] One Person Killed, Another Injured Following Two-Vehicle Crash Near Orland One person was killed, and another was injured following a two-vehicle crash near Orland on Monday morning, June 24, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at about 8:00 a.m. on County Road 24 and County Road M. 

Authorities stated that a 46-year-old woman was driving a 2004 Honda Accord east on County Road 24 at unknown speed, heading to a stop sign for the intersection with County Road M. Meanwhile, a 27-year-old woman in a 2016 Jeep Rubicon was traveling southbound and approaching County Road 24, which does not have any stop signs. 

Investigation showed that the Honda traveled through the intersection with a stop sign while the Jeep approached the intersection going southbound. As a result, the front end of the Jeep crashed with the side of the Honda, causing the Jeep to spin counterclockwise. The Honda was pushed in a southeasterly direction after spinning around due to the impact of the crash.

Police said that the driver of the Honda was transported to Glenn Medical Center, where she died. The driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries and was taken to Enloe Hospital for treatment. 

No additional details were released, and the authorities are gathering all the necessary information to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
