[06-24-2024] One Person Killed Following Single-Vehicle Crash Along 905 FreewayOne person was killed following a single-vehicle crash in San Diego just after midnight on Monday, June 24, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 12:03 a.m. on the eastbound Otay Mesa (905) Freeway at the Heritage Road off-ramp.

CHP said that the crashed vehicle had two occupants at the time of the incident. Both were said to be trapped in the wreckage when the responders arrived, with one of them already unresponsive. That person was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after. It is unclear if the deceased person was the driver or the passenger.

Further details surrounding the single-vehicle collision and the people involved were not immediately available. The condition of the other occupant was also still unknown.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. It is unclear if alcohol, drugs, or speed played a factor in the collision.
