A pedestrian was hospitalized following a hit-and-run collision in South Los Angeles on Wednesday night, June 19, 2024.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division, the pedestrian vs. vehicle traffic incident occurred around 11:14 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Budlong Avenue intersection.
LAPD responded to the scene alongside the Los Angeles Fire Department. Upon arrival, they found the pedestrian, who remains unnamed, down in the roadway and not breathing. The victim was rushed to a local hospital in unknown condition. Currently, there is still no update on the status of the victim.
The hit-and-run vehicle was described as a black truck and nothing more. Police have not provided an official description of the suspect or pinpointed their current whereabouts.
The authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the cause of the accident. It is not immediately known if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
