[06-14-2024] Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Hit-And-Run Vehicle on 102nd Avenue in OaklandA pedestrian was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in East Oakland on Friday night, June 14, 2024. 

According to the responding officers, the fatal collision happened around 8:15 p.m. on International Boulevard and 102nd Avenue.

Authorities stated that a pedestrian, identified as an adult male, was in the westbound bus lane of International Boulevard when a 2011 BMW 535i came speeding down the lane. Due to the impact of the crash, the victim was thrown into the eastbound lane of traffic and was pronounced dead at the scene. There is no word yet on the identity of the deceased.

Police said that the driver of the BMV fled the scene. The vehicle was later found by the police, but the suspect is still at large. It remains unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision. 

Further information on the collision will be released once available. Witnesses are asked to contact the Traffic Investigation Unit at 510-777-8570.

Investigations are ongoing.
