[06-15-2024] Five People Hospitalized Following Three-Vehicle Collision in AguangaFive people were hospitalized following a three-vehicle collision in Aguanga, Riverside County, on Saturday afternoon, June 15, 2024.

According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the crash happened at about 3:35 p.m. along the southbound Highway 79 west of Sage Road.

The circumstances behind the highway crash remain unclear, but authorities said that at least one person was trapped inside one of the vehicles involved.

Five people in total were confirmed to be injured and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Two of them were transported via air ambulance after sustaining severe injuries. Meanwhile, the other three were taken to a medical facility via ground ambulance after suffering from moderate to minor injuries.

What caused the crash and how it ultimately happened are still unclear. The authorities are still examining all the evidence they can find on-scene.

The authorities will provide further details as soon as they become available. The California Highway Patrol has since assumed the investigation.
