[06-06-2024] Riverside County, CA – 23-Year-Old Driver Killed, Another Injured Following Two-Vehicle Collision in Hemet

[06-06-2024] 23-Year-Old Driver Killed, Another Injured Following Two-Vehicle Collision in Hemet A 23-year-old driver was killed, and another was injured following a two-vehicle collision in Hemet on Thursday night, June 6, 2024. 

According to the Hemet Police Department, the crash happened around 10:00 p.m. on Stetson Avenue, west of Kirby Street. 

Authorities stated that the driver of a Honda Accord, identified as Samuel R., 23, of Moreno Valley, was allegedly speeding when he lost control of his car. He then skidded sideways into oncoming traffic and collided with a blue Mazda CX. 

The driver of the Honda was transported to Riverside University Health System, where he died. He was reported as not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Meanwhile, the driver of the Mazda sustained minor injuries and cooperated with the investigation. 

Drugs and alcohol did not appear as the factors of the collision, but speeding played a role. 

Further details on the collision have yet to be released by the authorities. Investigations are ongoing.
