[06-05-2024] Passenger Injured Following Suspected Multi-Vehicle DUI Collision on 10 Freeway in West CovinaA passenger was injured following a suspected multi-vehicle DUI collision in West Covina on Wednesday morning, June 5, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:30 a.m. in an apartment complex lot along the westbound 10 Freeway at the West Pacific Avenue exit.

Authorities stated that a vehicle left the freeway, drove through a fence barrier, and hit several cars that were parked in an apartment complex lot.  A total of three vehicles were damaged due to the severity of the collision. 

CHP said that the passenger of the vehicle suffered a broken leg following the crash and was transported to a local hospital. Details on the identity of the victim were not immediately known. 

The driver, identified only as a woman, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. 

Additional information on the crash has yet to be disclosed by the responding officials. 

Investigations are ongoing.
