[06-05-2024] One Person Killed Following Vehicular Crash Involving At Least One Big Rig on 15 FreewayOne person was killed following a two-vehicle collision involving at least one big rig near Yermo, San Bernardino County, on Wednesday afternoon, June 5, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 5:47 p.m. on Freeway 15, east of the unincorporated county community of Yermo.

Authorities stated that the collision involved a big rig and a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Upon their arrival, one person was found inside the pickup truck, suffering from critical injuries with weak life signs. The paramedics performed life-saving measures, but that individual was later pronounced dead at the scene. 

The responding officials said two big rigs with damages stopped at the crash site. No information is available about whether anyone else was injured in the collision.

Details on how the incident occurred remain unclear. The role of drugs, alcohol, and speeding is being investigated by the authorities. At this time, the official cause of the collision is unknown. 

Additional information regarding the crash has yet to be disclosed. Investigations are ongoing.
