[06-04-2024] Three People Hospitalized After Three-Vehicle Collision in EncinoThree people were hospitalized after a three-vehicle collision in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening, June 4, 2024.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the crash happened just before 8:00 p.m. at Balboa Boulevard and Burbank Boulevard in Encino.

The crash reportedly involved two private vehicles and an LAPD police cruiser. One of the vehicles involved was seen wedged between a wall and a light pole on the roadway’s sidewalk with significant damage. The other vehicle only had minor damage on its front and was resting at the corner of the intersection.

Meanwhile, the LAPD cruiser sustained heavy damage on its front end. It was positioned near the wedged vehicle with its rear end on the sidewalk.

Responders had to use hydraulic tools to extract two occupants from one of the vehicles involved. Both were taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment. At the time of writing, no injuries were reported from the occupants of the other private vehicle.

The police officer involved in the collision was also hospitalized with minor injuries.

It is currently unknown if the authorities involved were engaged in a police chase with a suspect at the time of the incident. The circumstances behind the three-vehicle crash are still under investigation.
