[05-31-2024] Three People Injured After Two-Vehicle Collision in MorenaThree people were injured after a two-vehicle collision in San Diego on Friday afternoon, May 31, 2024.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the traffic crash occurred at around 5:14 p.m. at the 6000 block of Friars Road in the Morena neighborhood.

SDPD said that an 87-year-old man driving a 2017 Infinity along Gaines Street tried turning left onto Friars Road when it struck a 2008 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 27-year-old man with a passenger. The Toyota was said to be traveling westbound on Friars Road when the accident took place.

Three people were injured in the crash. The elderly driver reportedly sustained fractures to his back, facial injuries, and internal bleeding. The driver of the other vehicle complained of lower back and nose pains, while his passenger complained of chest and other body pains

None of the three injured individuals were identified publicly at this time.

SDPD is still investigating the cause of the accident. They have since ruled out the possibility of alcohol intoxication as a factor.
