[05-16-2024] Two Male Drivers Hospitalized Following Two-Vehicle Head-On Collision in OntarioTwo male drivers were hospitalized following a two-vehicle head-on collision in Ontario late Thursday night, May 16, 2024.

According to the Ontario Police Department, the major traffic crash happened at about 11:15 p.m. at the intersection of North Campus Avenue and East 4th Street.

The incident involved two pickup trucks. OPD said one pickup truck was traveling south on Campus Avenue at an unsafe speed while the other was traveling west on 4th Street. 

The two collided at the intersection, injuring both vehicle’s male adult drivers and causing heavy vehicular damage. The crash also damaged a fire hydrant and the exterior fence of a nearby residential home.

Both drivers were sent to the hospital for treatment. One of them was said to be in critical condition following the accident. The names of the individuals involved have not been released at this time.

OPD closed the nearby streets for about two to three hours as a precaution while they investigated and cleared up the scene.
