[05-17-2024] At Least One Person Hospitalized Following Pursuit Led To Reckless Multi-Vehicle Collision in Brentwood AreaAt least one person was hospitalized following a pursuit that led to a reckless multi-vehicle collision in the Brentwood area, Los Angeles County, on Friday morning, May 17, 2024. 

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision happened around 4:30 a.m. along the 405 Freeway. 

Authorities stated that the female driver of a white van struck an LAPD patrol car. The initial collision resulted in a pursuit along the 405 Freeway. The police tried to perform multiple PIT maneuvers at high speeds, but they weren’t able to stop the suspect. 

The suspect turned around, faced the northbound lanes, and started driving the wrong way. She then drove erratically and swerved past oncoming traffic. Her vehicle violently crashed head-on into a group of cars that had been stopped by the police near the Wilshire Boulevard exit.

Police said the suspect collided with at least three cars and a semi-truck. Innocent drivers who were hit by the van were reportedly injured, and at least one person was transported to the hospital. The extent of their injuries remains unclear. 

Officers took the suspect into custody. The crash is still under investigation. No further details have been provided as of now. 

The investigation continues.
