[05-12-2024] Two Riders Seriously Injured After Motorcycle Vs. Vehicle Hit-And-Run Crash in Rancho CucamongaTwo riders were seriously injured after a motorcycle vs. vehicle hit-and-run crash in Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday night, May 12, 2024.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred at around 8:21 p.m. on the 8000 block of Etiwanda Avenue.

Upon arrival, authorities found a damaged motorcycle down on the road, with both its driver and passenger sustaining serious injuries. The injured individuals were only identified as a 54-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman. Their current conditions are unknown at this time.

The vehicle that struck the two riders fled the scene. Witnesses gave the deputies a description of the suspect and the vehicle involved. A vehicle that is consistent with the witness testimonies was later located in an apartment complex nearby.

The hit-and-run driver was later identified as 45-year-old Guillermo V., a Rancho Cucamonga native. Authorities tried contacting him at his residence but were unsuccessful, prompting a warrant of arrest. 

Guillermo V. turned himself in the day after, May 13, 2024, Monday, and was booked into custody at West Valley Detention Center. A felony hit-and-run charge has been filed against him, and bail has been set at $150,000.
