[05-15-2024] One Person Injured Following Three-Vehicle Collision Involving Semi-Truck Near DairyvilleOne person was injured following a three-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck near Dairyville, Tehama County, on Wednesday morning, May 15, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the traffic crash happened at about 7:15 a.m. on Highway 99 and Kansas Avenue.

CHP officers said that an 18-year-old man driving a Ford F-250 pickup truck attempted to overtake a semi-truck but miscalculated, side-swiping another pickup before making contact with the semi’s rear end. The F-250 sustained major damage, particularly in its front, and was promptly taken away by a tow truck.

The 18-year-old driver sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital for further medical care. It is said that the drivers of the other vehicles involved had no apparent injuries.

CHP indicated that an arrest had been made but did not identify who the apprehended person was.
