A 10-year-old girl was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in the Allied Gardens, San Diego, on Friday afternoon, May 10, 2024.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision happened around 5:05 p.m. at the 6700 block of Glenroy Street.
Authorities stated that a 51-year-old woman driving a gray Chevrolet Suburban was heading southbound on Glenroy streets when she struck the victim, who ran across the street into the path of the SUV.
Police said that the girl sustained an open fracture to her left ankle with several abrasions. She was transported to a hospital for immediate treatment. It is unknown what caused the collision.
Further information has yet to be released by the authorities. No additional details were available.
