[05-14-2024] Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck By Hit-And-Run Vehicle Along SR 186A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle along SR 186, Imperial County, on Tuesday evening, May 14, 2024. 

According to the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 6:24 p.m. near the Andrade Port of Entry.

Authorities stated that a woman was hit by a car and suffered injuries. The suspected driver refused to give aid and fled the scene after the collision. After a short time, the Imperial County Sheriff’s deputies were able to stop the suspect in Winterhaven. 

Police said the victim was transported to the Desert Regional Medical Center by REACH Air Ambulance. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the collision. 

No further information was released, and the authorities are gathering all the necessary details to determine the cause of the crash.
