[05-13-2024] San Bernardino County, CA – Male Pedestrian Killed After Getting Hit by Vehicle in Hesperia

A male pedestrian was killed after getting hit by a vehicle in Hesperia late Monday night, May 13, 2024.

According to the authorities, the fatal crash happened at about 11:19 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Maple Avenue.

It is said that the pedestrian crossed the street from the southeast corner of the intersection after exiting a nearby 7-Eleven using the crosswalk but did so at a red light. The pedestrian then reportedly got hit by a westbound Toyota on Main Street after accelerating with a green light.

Emergency personnel who responded to the accident pronounced the man dead at the scene. Witnesses told the authorities that he was thrown into the intersection due to the impact of the collision.

The Toyota that was involved in the deadly incident sustained visible front damage, particularly on its left side. The driver reportedly stopped in the westbound lanes near El Pollo Loco restaurant to cooperate with the authorities.

Further information regarding the incident and the identity of the deceased was not readily available.
