[05-08-2024] One Person Killed, Another Hospitalized After Vehicle Vs. Box Truck Collision Along 215 FreewayOne person was killed, while another was hospitalized after a vehicle vs. box truck collision in San Bernardino on Wednesday afternoon, May 8, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened just before 1:45 p.m. along the 215 Freeway at the SR-210 junction.

Officers said that a Nissan Versa, with a female driver and passenger, was going south on the 215 Freeway at the interchange at an unknown speed. Just behind the vehicle is a Freightliner Box Truck moving in the same direction.

For still-unknown reasons, the driver of the Versa reportedly stomped the brake pedals, suddenly putting the vehicle to a stop. This then led to the box truck at the back crashing into the Versa, causing the much smaller vehicle to veer into the guardrail.

The driver of the Versa was pronounced dead at the scene, while her passenger was transported to a nearby hospital with major injuries. The identity of the two women was not disclosed as of yet.

There is no word yet if the occupant/s of the involved box truck was injured.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
