[05-02-2024] Two People Hospitalized Following Multi-Vehicle Collision Involving Walmart Semi-Truck in Apple ValleyTwo people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle collision involving a Walmart semi-truck in Apple Valley on Thursday evening, May 2, 2024.

According to the Apple Valley Police Department, the crash occurred at around 6:56 p.m. at the intersection of Dale Evans Parkway and Quarry Road.

APD stated that the incident was initiated by a 33-year-old male driver of a Toyota car who failed to stop at a stop sign. This negligent behavior then led to a crash with a Walmart semi-truck, which then lost control and struck a parked Nissan and a nearby electrical pole before tipping over entirely.

The driver of the semi, a 48-year-old man from Apple Valley, reportedly suffered high blood pressure as a result of the incident. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. 

The Toyota driver, meanwhile, sustained moderate injuries and was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

It was later confirmed that no one was inside the parked Nissan when the accident occurred.

No further information was immediately available, and the authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the factors leading up to the traffic accident.
