A 31-year-old man was seriously injured after a pedestrian vs. vehicle crash near Tracy on Wednesday evening, April 24, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 8:50 p.m. along Bethany Road west of Reeve Road.
CHP stated that the pedestrian was attempting to cross Bethany from the north shoulder of the roadway when he was struck by a westbound vehicle, a 2021 Subaru. The impact of the collision threw the man back to the north shoulder with major injuries. He was then transported to San Joaquin General Hospital for treatment.
The Subaru driver, later identified as a 36-year-old man from Stockton, was reportedly uninjured and remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities. CHP has since ruled out the possibility of drug or alcohol impairment as a factor in the incident.
