INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT?

[04-28-2024] San Joaquin County, CA – 45-Year-Old Male Driver Killed, Two Female Passengers Injured Following Two-Vehicle Collision Near Lodi

[04-28-2024] 45-Year-Old Male Driver Killed, Two Female Passengers Injured Following Two-Vehicle Collision Near LodiA 45-year-old male driver was killed, while two female passengers were injured following a two-vehicle collision near Lodi on Sunday night, April 28, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident happened around 8:15 p.m. along Highway 12, nearing the Guard Road intersection.

Reports indicate that the crash involved a 62-year-old man from Mountain View who was driving a pickup truck and a 45-year-old man from Isleton who was driving an SUV with four passengers—two males and two females. The pickup truck was towing a boat on a trailer.

CHP’s investigations show that the pickup was traveling eastbound on Highway 12, nearing the Guard Road intersection, when its trailer swayed into the westbound lane right in front of the SUV. The driver of the SUV tried to avoid crashing into the trailer but hit the left rear of the boat. This then caused his vehicle to hit several metal posts and a nearby grape vineyard.

Upon arrival, responders administered CPR to the 45-year-old SUV driver, who sustained critical injuries, but he was pronounced dead shortly after. The two female passengers of the deceased also sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the other two male passengers were apparently uninjured. The driver of the pickup truck was also unhurt.

CHP does not believe that alcohol or drugs played a factor in the deadly collision. Investigations are ongoing.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
