[04-01-2024] Orange County, CA – Male Motorist Killed After Being Hit by Vehicle Along 91 Freeway in Yorba Linda

A male motorist was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Yorba Linda early Monday morning, April 1, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 12:10 a.m. along the westbound Riverside (91) Freeway, just east of Gypsum Canyon Road.

CHP said that the victim was outside his car trying to fix it when he was struck by another motorist who lost control of their vehicle. A witness told the officers that the victim had his red sedan on the right shoulder of the freeway and was reportedly trying to stop other vehicles when he got hit.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was said to be uninjured.

All westbound lanes, except for the HOV lanes, were closed while investigations were conducted.
