[04-09-2024] 72-Year-Old Female Pedestrian Killed After Getting Hit by Vehicle in ReedleyA 72-year-old female pedestrian was killed after getting hit by a vehicle in Reedley on Tuesday night, April 9, 2024.

According to the police, the fatal incident occurred just before 8:00 p.m. around East Springfield Avenue, near Sunset Avenue.

The victim, later identified as Maria C. from Reedley, was reportedly using a walker to cross the street in Springfield when a westbound car struck her. 

Upon arrival, responders found the victim with significant injuries. They administered CPR and immediately transported her to a nearby hospital, where she ultimately died. 

Officers stated that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the ensuing investigations.

The police are still looking into the circumstances leading up to the incident. No further details were available at this time.
