[10-19-2026] El Dorado County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Suspected Hit-and-Run Crash in Lotus

A pedestrian was killed in a suspected hit-and-run collision in Lotus, west of Coloma in El Dorado County, early Monday morning, October 19, 2026.

According to California Highway Patrol traffic logs, an SUV was believed to have struck the pedestrian shortly before 3:30 a.m. on Lotus Road near Coloma Road and Highway 49.

CHP officers searched for the suspected vehicle on Monday morning.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office reported that Lotus Road was closed between Henningsen Park and Highway 49 following the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
