Two people suffered minor injuries after an SUV crashed into an apartment building in Redding on Wednesday afternoon, October 7, 2026.
According to the Redding Police Department, officers, firefighters, and AMR ambulance personnel responded at around 2:02 p.m. to an apartment complex at 1500 Lake Boulevard, near Oasis Road.
Police said a 56-year-old man was driving a Hyundai SUV westbound on Oasis Road when he failed to negotiate the T-intersection at Lake Boulevard and continued into the apartment building.
The SUV crashed through three apartment units, two of which were occupied at the time.
One resident suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital. The driver also sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized. Another resident was not injured.
The City of Redding Building Department determined that the building was unsafe to occupy because of extensive structural damage.
Police said the driver appeared to have experienced a medical emergency before the collision. Investigators also examined whether impairment was involved, but drugs and alcohol did not appear to be contributing factors.
No serious injuries were reported.
The Redding Police Department’s Traffic Unit continues to investigate the crash.
What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
