[09-26-2026] Riverside County, CA – Man Killed in Suspected Hit-and-Run Crash in Banning

A man was killed in a suspected hit-and-run crash on Highway 243 in Banning on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

According to a California Highway Patrol incident log, officers responded at around 11:45 a.m. to a report of a man lying along Highway 243 north of Mount Edna Road, near mile marker 24.

A reporting party told CHP that the man may have been struck by a vehicle. Authorities had not immediately confirmed the circumstances leading to the incident.

It was unclear whether any vehicle involved in the incident was located in the area.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
