[09-26-2026] San Diego County, CA – Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Pickup Truck in Otay Mesa

A 56-year-old man suffered serious injuries after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing a roadway in Otay Mesa, San Diego County, on Saturday morning, September 26, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred at around 7:49 a.m. at Otay Center Drive and Siempre Viva Road.

Police said a 54-year-old driver in a 2016 Ford F-150 was traveling southbound on Otay Center Drive and waiting to turn left onto eastbound Siempre Viva Road. After yielding to northbound traffic, the driver proceeded with the turn and struck the pedestrian at or near a crosswalk.

The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was diagnosed with a fractured femur and a small brain bleed. His current condition was not immediately available.

The San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is investigating the incident.
