[09-23-2026] San Diego County, CA – Man Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle on Broadway

A man died after being struck by an SUV while walking along a San Diego street on Wednesday night, September 23, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred at around 10:10 p.m. on the 1800 block of Broadway, where the roadway crosses over Interstate 5.

Police said the man was walking outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a westbound SUV. 

The man was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His identity was not immediately released.

San Diego police detectives are investigating the incident. Authorities said DUI was not a factor.
