[09-23-2026] Stanislaus County, CA – 71-Year-Old Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision Southwest of Patterson

A 71-year-old man was killed after a John Deere Gator utility vehicle was struck by a pickup truck southwest of Patterson on Wednesday morning, September 23, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at around 7:10 a.m. on Marshall Road, east of Alfalfa Road.

CHP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a 1999 Ford pickup truck towing a livestock trailer was traveling eastbound on Marshall Road at about 45 to 50 mph when it rear-ended the Gator utility vehicle traveling ahead.

The impact caused the Gator driver to be ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was withheld pending notification of the family.

The Ford driver, identified as 48-year-old Michael B. of Patterson, remained at the scene and reported no injuries. CHP said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
