[09-17-2026] Tulare County, CA – Pickup Driver Killed, Two Other Injured in Suspected DUI Crash Outside Porterville

A pickup truck driver was killed, and other people sustained injuries in a three-vehicle crash just outside Porterville on Thursday night, September 17, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at Road 152 and Avenue 192.

CHP said a man driving a white Jeep went through a stop sign and struck a gray pickup truck. The impact caused the pickup to collide with a red sedan.

People inside the red sedan were injured, although authorities did not provide details about the number of people injured or the extent of their injuries.

Officers said the Jeep driver, described as a man in his 50s, fled on foot into nearby orchards following the crash.

The man was later arrested and faces charges of felony DUI and hit-and-run.

The investigation is ongoing.
