A two-vehicle crash temporarily brought northbound traffic on Interstate 215 to a halt near the 91 Freeway interchange in Riverside on Monday, September 7, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 11:37 a.m. on the northbound I-215.
CHP traffic logs identified the vehicles involved as a white Hyundai Elantra and a brown sedan. Following the collision, one vehicle came to rest facing the wrong direction in the center divider, while the other came to rest on the right shoulder.
Officers initiated a traffic break from Blaine Street around 11:41 a.m., temporarily stopping all northbound lanes while crews cleared the crash scene.
The vehicles were subsequently moved, and the freeway lanes were reopened.
Information regarding possible injuries was not immediately available.
