[08-30-2026] Solano County, CA – Woman Killed in Wrong-Way DUI Crash on I-505

A 66-year-old Vacaville woman was killed in a wrong-way head-on crash on Interstate 505 in Solano County early Sunday morning, August 30, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 12:40 a.m. on southbound I-505, just south of Putah Creek Road.

CHP said a 45-year-old Vallejo man driving a Chevrolet Tahoe allegedly made a U-turn on the freeway after missing an exit and began traveling north in the southbound lanes. The Tahoe then collided head-on with a 2026 Nissan Kicks.

The 66-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Nissan, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released her identity.

The Tahoe driver suffered minor injuries and was taken into custody on suspicion of felony DUI. CHP said he was expected to be booked into the Solano County Jail following medical clearance.

The CHP continues to investigate the fatal crash.
