[08-27-2026] Tehama County, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash Near Cottonwood

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash near Cottonwood, Tehama County, early Thursday morning, August 27, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Bowman Road, just west of Broadhurst Road.

CHP said the pedestrian was struck by a white pickup truck. The driver allegedly left the scene without stopping after the collision.

Authorities have not released the pedestrian’s identity or additional information about the pickup truck or its driver.

CHP is asking anyone with information about the collision or the vehicle involved to contact the Red Bluff Area CHP office at (530) 737-6746.

The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the fatal hit-and-run crash.
