[08-26-2026] Sacramento County, CA – Tesla Driver Killed in Crash With Tractor Near Elk Grove

A Tesla driver was killed in a collision involving a tractor hauling grapes near Elk Grove early Wednesday morning, August 26, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s South Sacramento office, the crash was reported around 5:40 a.m. on eastbound Kammerer Road, east of Lent Ranch Road.

CHP said the Tesla collided with the rear of the tractor. The Tesla caught fire following the collision.

Cosumnes Community Services District firefighters responded to the scene and pronounced the Tesla driver dead. Authorities have not released the driver’s identity pending notification of family.

Additional information about the circumstances leading to the collision was not immediately available.

The CHP continues to investigate the fatal crash.
