[08-18-2026] Orange County, CA – Man in Wheelchair Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in Huntington Beach

A 74-year-old man using a motorized wheelchair was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Huntington Beach on Tuesday afternoon, August 18, 2026.

According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, the incident occurred around 2 p.m. at Skylab Road and Able Lane.

Police said the Westminster man was crossing southbound in a motorized wheelchair on Skylab Road when he was struck by an eastbound Honda.

The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Authorities have not released his identity.

The Honda driver, identified as a 45-year-old Los Angeles man, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The Huntington Beach Police Department continues to investigate the fatal crash.
