A multi-vehicle crash caused heavy traffic delays on southbound Highway 101 in Paso Robles on Wednesday afternoon, August 5, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 12:14 p.m. near the Riverside Avenue exit. The crash involved a white Toyota Solara, a gray Toyota sedan, and a gray Honda SUV.
Authorities have not released information regarding injuries or the circumstances leading to the collision.
The crash caused traffic to back up through Paso Robles, prompting the California Highway Patrol to temporarily close the Pine Street off-ramp. Southbound traffic was further affected by Caltrans crews removing a dead tree near Theatre Drive.
By approximately 12:41 p.m., traffic on southbound Highway 101 had come to a standstill between Highway 46 and Niblick Road.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
