[08-01-2026] San Diego County, CA – Two Seriously Injured in Rollover Crash on I-15 Near Rainbow Valley Rd.

Two people suffered life-threatening injuries in a rollover crash involving a white Infiniti and a Nissan on Interstate 15 in San Diego County on Saturday evening, August 1, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 7:46 p.m. on Interstate 15 near Rainbow Valley Road.

Preliminary information indicates a vehicle rolled over multiple times on the northbound side before crossing the center divider into the southbound lanes, where it was involved in a collision with another vehicle.

One victim was airlifted by Mercy Air to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, while another person with life-threatening injuries was transported by ground ambulance.

Emergency crews closed all southbound lanes of Interstate 15 to allow for the medical helicopter landing, crash investigation, and debris removal.

The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
