[07-27-2026] Riverside County, CA – One Killed in Crash Involving Big Rig in Corona

A 55-year-old Riverside man, identified as Santos L., was killed in a collision involving a big rig and a passenger vehicle on the Riverside (91) Freeway in Corona late Monday night, July 27, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 11:17 p.m. on the eastbound 91 Freeway east of Lincoln Avenue. 

Investigators said the big rig reportedly sustained a tire blowout and jackknifed across the freeway. Authorities later confirmed that a Honda Accord was also involved in the collision.

A witness reported that the roof of one of the vehicles had been torn off during the crash. The collision resulted in an oil and diesel spill, prompting the closure of eastbound lanes 3, 4, and 5 while crews conducted cleanup operations and investigators examined the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
