[07-26-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – One Critically Injured in Collision Involving Waymo on Venice Blvd.

A collision involving a Waymo autonomous vehicle resulted in one person being critically injured in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, July 26, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash was reported at around 5:45 a.m. in the 1000 block of Venice Boulevard near South Union Avenue in the Pico-Union district, just west of the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Authorities reported that the Waymo vehicle collided with a blue sedan occupied by a man, a woman, and an infant. None of the sedan occupants was seriously injured; all were treated and released at the scene.

One person inside the Waymo vehicle sustained critical injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.
