[07-17-2026] San Diego County, CA – Motorcyclist Killed, Pickup Truck Driver Injured in Traffic Collision in Escondido

A 23-year-old motorcyclist was killed, and a pickup truck driver was injured in a traffic collision in Escondido on Friday afternoon, July 17, 2026.

According to the Escondido Police, the crash occurred around 4:10 p.m. at the intersection of East Washington Avenue and Daisy Street. 

Authorities reported that the motorcyclist, a man, was found with critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 37-year-old woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. She sustained minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital. 

The identity of the motorcyclist is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the collision.
