[07-10-2026] Shasta County, CA – Two Injured in Crash Into Tree on Canyon Rd in Redding

A man and a woman were transported to a hospital with major injuries after their vehicle collided with a tree on Canyon Road in Redding on Friday afternoon, July 10, 2026.

According to the Redding Police Department, officers responded around 2:50 p.m. near the intersection of Canyon Road and Copper Drive. They found a black vehicle with severe front-end damage that had struck a tree.

The driver, identified as 25-year-old Troy L. of Redding, and a 31-year-old female passenger sustained major injuries. Both were transported to a local hospital, where the driver is in stable condition, and the passenger remains in critical but stable condition.

Redding Police reported that suspected narcotics were located at the scene, and a DUI investigation was initiated. Charges against the driver for driving under the influence and causing injury will be submitted to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office for review.

The Redding Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.
