Five pedestrians were injured after being struck by a vehicle in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, on Tuesday afternoon, July 7, 2026.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident was reported at around 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of East Cesar E. Chavez Avenue and North Lorena Street, near Evergreen Cemetery Street.
Authorities said a westbound driver made a U-turn, jumped the curb on the southeast corner, and struck five pedestrians. Victims’ injuries ranged from minor to severe, including one pedestrian who suffered a double leg amputation. All five were transported to local hospitals.
Police did not release the ages or genders of the victims or the driver. The driver is suspected of being impaired and faces possible serious charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
